MEDIATION (ADR) SERVICES

Retired Judge Michael T. DeCourcy offers mediation and other ADR services at DeCourcy Law PLLC following 20 years as a Ramsey County District Court Judge.  Since his retirement from the bench, Retired Judge DeCourcy has mediated hundreds of complex matters in various areas of the law, including business, commercial, civil, employment, real estate, and probate and trust matters.  Retired Judge DeCourcy also serves as an arbitrator, special master and as a member of special litigation committees (SLC).

Michael T. DeCourcy is a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice, and is qualified and available to serve as a neutral facilitator, evaluator, adjudicator, or in a hybrid capacity.  Specifically, DeCourcy is qualified and available to conduct mediations, arbitrations, mini-trials, mediations-arbitrations ("med-arb"), summary jury trials, early neutral evaluation, and neutral fact finding.  DeCourcy is also qualified and available to serve as a consensual special magistrate and to moderate settlement conferences.

As a former trial judge, Michael T. DeCourcy understands the important role ADR services can provide litigants. Regardless of the neutral's particular role in any given case (facilitator, adjudicator, evaluator, or hybrid), it is essential that the parties trust not only the process employed by the neutral, but also that they trust the neutral's knowledge, skill, and experience to help resolve their issues in an effective and efficient manner.
